Wolverham Community Drop In Centre offers lunch twice a week, coffee mornings, crafting and drop in IT facilities for old and young alike.
I found the centre when I was looking for social support for my ageing parents. My dad had taken on the role of carer and needed some safe space for both of them to mix with other people socially.
The lady who runs the centre, Chris, also the cook, runs a warm and welcoming community programme in Ellesmere Port. Saughall Rotary Club donated £200 to them from the proceeds of Julie and Martin’s Clay Pigeon Shoot.
Chris has used the money to buy a garden bench. She also wanted to tidy up the garden. so we volunteered to help. Many hands make light work and we soon created a lovely space for clients to enjoy. A scrumptious lunch was then tucked into after all the hard work.
